One-Word Story is a classic improv warm-up with the stage fright removed. The big screen opens a story — "On my first day the" — and players take turns adding exactly one word from their phones. The story grows live on screen, wanders somewhere nobody planned, and ends when it hits its target length. Then everyone writes a title for the mess and the room votes on the best one. It is pure "yes, and" energy: you cannot control the story, you can only make the next word count.
How to play
- 1
The screen seeds a starter
A built-in opening like "The company picnic went" appears, and a shuffled turn order is dealt.
- 2
Add one word on your turn
Your phone lights up when it is your turn. Type exactly one word — the app enforces it — and the story updates live on the big screen for everyone.
- 3
The story finishes itself
When the story hits its target length (a few words per player), it automatically moves to titling. The host can also cut a rambling story short.
- 4
Title it and vote
Everyone names the finished story, then votes for the best title. Podium points for titles, participation points for every contributor, and the winning title gets read aloud with the story.
